A little bit about us
The Frost family live in North wales close to Abergele. We have had an interest in Local and National Heritage all our lives. (too many years to name)
Myself being particularly interested in the vehicles and implements that have been Horse-Drawn.
Being a carpenter, and quite handy with a blacksmiths anvil, it was quite a few years ago that I got my first wooden cart to restore.
There were many splinters and hammered thumbs during that first restoration, but I fell in love with the craftsmanship of times gone by.
To think of the engineering that went into those carts and drays. I was hooked. I searched for more projects to do more carts and drays,
any kind of horse-drawn vehicle I could get hold of. There were a lot more hammered thumbs and splinters too.
Now over the years I have managed to restore and collect about 40 different Horse-Drawn vehicles and other implements.
The Cae Hen Collection is all about showing people what our fore fathers did.
The engineering they used to make every day life a bit easier, the craftsmanship that is fast becoming lost.
I am also a member of the Shire Horse Society, and frequently travel up and down the country showing a selction of the Cae Hen Collection at horse fairs and galas.
If you happen to be at one the next time, come over say "hello" I would be more than glad to share my knowledge of these beautiful works of art.
